WebSite-Watcher – Utility that Automatically Monitors Sites
The old fashion way of keeping track of the new content that a website posts is to regularly visit it. Every now and then you visit a certain site and see what’s new on it. If the site focuses on news, for example, you can see what new articles the site has posted. If the site focuses on photos, you can see what new images have been uploaded.
The simple truth of the matter is that visiting a website every day is not exactly a very efficient way of going about it. It is not efficient at all if you have a big bunch of sites that you have to visit regularly to find out if they posted something new. So what do you do to speed things along? You turn to software and see if there is an application that can lend a helping hand. The application that can lend a helping hand in this situation is WebSite-Watcher. To put it bluntly, this application automatically checks web pages for updates and changes.
The software's installation process is point and click and completes very fast. The requirements of the software are extremely low and so is the hard disk space occupied.
The interface is very easy to use and also intuitive. The user can control the program either using the classical menu or the graphical buttons. Either way, all he has to do is to add a link and the program will check its status and will also display the site's title. The checking of the site occurs at a chosen interval and the program displays the hour when he checked the site and also the time it was last changed.
WebSite-Watcher allows creating scripts, for automating the process of checking websites, but this shouldn't be used by beginners. The program also includes a mini browser, for quickly viewing a webpage, including its source code, forms and cookies. Bookmarks containing all the user's websites can be protected with a password, for an increased safety.
Pros:
It allows automatic checking of any website and quickly informing the user if it was modified or not. Also, it allows checking multiple sites at once.
Cons:
It's a bit difficult to use by beginners, due to the large number of options available.
WebSite-Watcher is a great software for automatically checking any website to see if it was modified, saving time and effort.
